MY CHIROPRACTIC STORY:
After graduating from Grosse Pointe South High School in 1974, I enrolled in Western Michigan University. I had an interest in sports and science and decided to become an M.D. During my freshman and sophomore year at WMU, I hurt my back lifting a lawn mower out of the trunk of my car. Medication dulled the pain, but did not help me. My best friend at WMU recommended that I see a chiropractor. He said that a chiropractor helped people naturally without drugs or surgeries. I wasn’t getting much relief with the medical doctor and I didn’t like to take medication so I decided to visit the chiropractor.
The chiropractor did things very differently than I was accustomed to. He talked about getting my body to heal my condition. He talked about nerve interference. His treatment consisted of gently touching my back and to my amazement, the pain started to go away. I was so impressed with the results that I obtained chiropractic treatment, I decided to become a chiropractor.
Becoming a chiropractor was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. Not only has chiropractic helped me physically, it has also helped me spiritually. By being a chiropractor I have learned that we were born with an “inner intelligence” that keeps us healthy as long as there is no interferences.
My mission as a chiropractor is to help my patients reduce interferences to the innate wisdom of the body so that the body can express its optimum potential. What a wonderful job it is.
